Planning a family holiday can feel overwhelming, but Lyttos Beach in
Crete might just be the answer you've been looking for. We recently
spent 5 days exploring this massive all-inclusive resort, and I'm
excited to share our honest family review with you.
The moment we arrived at Lyttos Beach, we could see why it's earned
such a strong reputation. Spread across beautifully maintained
gardens, this resort is massive—but in a good way. There's something
here for everyone, from tiny toddlers to teenagers (and let's be
honest, for the parents too).
**The Waterpark: A Highlight for the Kids**
The 9-slide waterpark was an absolute hit with our family. The variety
means there's something for every confidence level. Our younger kids
loved the gentler slides, while the older ones went straight for the
fastest, steepest options. The water is kept clean and the staff are
attentive, so you can actually relax knowing your kids are safe while
they're having a blast.
Pro-tip: Head to the waterpark early in the morning (around 9:30 AM)
when it's quieter. You'll get more slide time without the crowds, and
the kids will have a blast without waiting in long queues.
**The Garden View Family Room**
We stayed in a Garden View Family Room, which gave us plenty of space
without feeling cramped. The room was clean, well-appointed, and had
everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was
spacious—a real bonus when you're juggling kids' routines. The balcony
was perfect for early morning coffee before the chaos of the day
began.
**Dining at Lyttos Beach**
As an all-inclusive resort, the dining options are a major factor, and
Lyttos doesn't disappoint. We taste-tested several restaurants
throughout our stay, and the quality was consistently good. There's a
main buffet that caters to all tastes (with kids' favorites clearly
marked), plus specialty restaurants for evenings when you want
something a bit different.
What I appreciated most was the variety. If the kids didn't fancy the
main buffet one night, there were alternatives. The kids' menu
includes classics that even picky eaters will eat, and the staff are
genuinely accommodating about dietary requirements.
**Lytopia: The Hidden Kids' Paradise**
One of the resort's most clever features is Lytopia—a dedicated kids'
zone that's basically a paradise for children. It's well-supervised,
clean, and packed with activities. It gave us a few precious hours to
actually relax and enjoy a peaceful meal, knowing the kids were having
the time of their lives.
**Beyond the Waterpark**
The resort has so much more than just the waterpark. There's a
beautiful beach area, sports facilities, entertainment programs
throughout the day, and evening activities that get the whole family
involved. The Kids' Club offerings are actually thoughtful—not just
glorified childcare, but genuine activities that kids actually enjoy.
The atmosphere is genuinely family-friendly without feeling chaotic.
Yes, there are kids everywhere (it's a family resort), but the staff
have clearly figured out how to manage the energy well.
**Our Pro-Tips for Your Stay**
1. Book activities in advance. Some of the more popular activities
can fill up quickly, so check the daily schedule and book ahead.
2. Arrive with a plan, but stay flexible. We went in knowing what
we wanted to try, but we were also open to spontaneous discoveries.
Some of our best moments came from just wandering and finding hidden
corners of the resort.
3. Use the Kids' Club strategically. Don't feel guilty about
giving the kids some structured time—it frees you up to actually enjoy
some couple time or just sit by the pool with a book.
4. Try the specialty restaurants. The main buffet is great, but
don't miss the themed dining experiences. They feel special and break
up the week nicely.
5. Pack light and bring sunscreen. You'll buy things you didn't
expect, and the Cretan sun is relentless. We went through sunscreen
faster than anticipated.
**Is Lyttos Beach Worth It?**
After 5 days, we can honestly say yes. Is it perfect? No resort is.
But for families looking for an all-inclusive experience that actually
caters well to children while not boring the adults, Lyttos Beach
delivers.
The value is excellent for an all-inclusive in Greece. You get quality
accommodation, multiple dining options, a world-class waterpark, and
organized activities—all without surprising charges appearing at the
end of your stay.
The kids are already asking when we can go back. In our book, that's
the ultimate review.
Have you stayed at Lyttos Beach? I'd love to hear your experience in
the comments below. And if you're considering it, I hope this review
helps you make your decision!
