We just returned from our first family all-inclusive experience, and we're still talking about it! Stella Palace Aqua Park Resort in Crete promised relaxation and adventure for families — so we decided to put it to the test with our kids in tow.

This resort isn't your typical "sit by the pool quietly" kind of place. It's built for families who want action alongside their downtime. Here's what we experienced:

Stella Waterland: The Thrill Factor If your kids love waterslides, you've found your paradise. Stella Waterland had slides for every age and confidence level — from gentle slopes for the little ones to heart-pounding drops for the brave ones. Our family spent hours here, and the kids barely wanted to leave. ### The Kidzone: Hidden Gem Beyond the waterpark, the Kidzone offered structured activities, games, and spaces where kids could genuinely play and make friends. It gave us parents a chance to actually relax for a bit (rare luxury!).

Food at Poseidon & Elia All-inclusive dining can be hit or miss, but the restaurants here served up some genuinely good meals. Poseidon had a nice variety for both adults and picky eaters, and Elia offered different cuisine options to break up the routine.

The Rooms & Private Beach The rooms were spacious enough for a family (no cramped quarters here), and the private beach was less crowded than public ones nearby. It's those little extras that make all-inclusive resorts feel special.

After our visit, here's our take: Yes — if you value having everything in one place and want a stress-free vacation where your kids are genuinely entertained. The all-inclusive model means no surprise restaurant bills, no "where do we eat tonight?" debates, and activities that keep everyone happy. Maybe — if you're on a tight budget or prefer more independent exploring. There are less expensive resorts in Crete, but they won't offer this level of kid-focused amenities.
